2016:
24th June
This Guitar had a faulty pickup that we replaced with a new pickup & patched up the old hole...
28th June
A Customer wanted to upgrade his Strat copy From single coil to humbucker pickup in the neck, This Involves A fair amount of routing out of the cavity...
2nd August
This Antique Banjolele had some issues with its skin being torn, we replaced the head & cleaned it up as best as we could...
26th August
Some hair, OK, Alot of hair from an animal got into the Pads of this Digital Piano causing it to stop functioning, we opened it up & serviced all the working parts...
6th September
This vintage electric guitar came in completely Rusty & Dusty, We stripped all the rust & dust & put it all back together...
12th September
A Poor Guitar Amplifier needed some TLC, Pots; Inputs & Switches All needed to be replaced, once we put it back together it had its voice back again...
23th September
Occasionally we get a neglected instrument in for servicing, this Resonator had all the chrome work faded & dull from storage, we buffed it up & Brought its shine back. later we ended up installing a magnetic pickup, now its a beast of a guitar with its owner playing serious blues on it...
12th October
We got another Vintage guitar in with major problems, the biggest issue was the lifting bridge, we removed it from the body, got rid of the old glue & secured it back on... just like new...
9th November
Yet Another Pickup issue, the previous preamp on this guitar was faulty, so we installed a Fishman in its Place, no more issues...
18th November
This Poor Poor Acoustic Guitar fell off the wall... Massive pieces were missing but we managed to reinforce & Re-finish the affected Area...
1st December
Sometimes we get Fun Projects, like this classical guitar for instance, its like Doing a puzzle.
unfortunately there is no after photo but we managed to get it all to fit back the way it should...
2017:
4th January
We were Very Honoured to receive one of our original Handmade Thundercloud Guitars in for a service, Of course we gave it our 5 Star Service & we were smiling while doing it...
31st January
This Antique Banjolele Came in for a new head, strings & Tailpiece, Little did we know that this Would be the start of a Trend...
8th February
Yet Another Banjolele Came in for A Full Overhaul, this one had rusty parts that we needed to refurbish & respray to prevent further damage...
22nd February
A 12-String Acoustic came in for a setup, we had to make grooves in the bridge to create better gradient on the saddle...
8th March
We Had this poor poor Violin come in for repairs as someone left it in the sun for an extended period of time, the back & sides had separated. After A few clamps & intense glue, it is now back to normal.
28th March
We got a Dunlop Jimi Hendrix Crybaby Wah Wah Pedal, Something went wrong with the wiring which made it not work properly. Our Soldering Skills took care of that.
11th April
A Customer Brought This Arch-Top Guitar in for a Pickup install & a Revamp. We fitted new Machineheads, A Volume & Tone Pot as well as a Lipstick pickup in the neck, Looks & Sounds Great now.
12th July
We booked this Fender Malibu In for issues with the machineheads, strings kept going out of tune. We Installed Better Quality Diecast Machineheads which involved Drilling the holes out bigger, now its much more Stable.
18th July
This Guitar Came in with a lifting Bridge, we needed to shape the bridge & reinforce it with bolts.
3rd August
The Fretboard on this Guitar Had been Played so much that the frets had grooves in them, we had to carefully take out all the frets & Press new Ones in, This Is What we call A Re-Fret.
7th August
As you can see in this Photo, this Digital piano came in for a complaint that some keys didn't work, we opened up & noticed Liquid had been spilled onto it which had caused the pads to stick & the contact board to Corrode. After a couple of hours of cleaning & soldering, we Got it back to it's Normal Working Condition.
11th August
This Bass Guitar Came in with a broken neck that had an attempted repair, we had to clean out all the old glue & Reapply The good stuff with a couple more clamps, Now it's Ready for another Hectic Gig...
15th August
We Received A Roundback Mandolin for A Servicing & New strings from a local collector.
It was a pleasure to bring it back to life.
28th August
Sometimes we get an Old Relic in the shop, this Ibanez Roadstar II came in for a service when we realised something just isn't right, We had to change the bridge & service all the parts, but now it's a beast once again.
30th August
Yet Another Violin Repair, this time it was An Accidental Sit-On.
Looks Like A job for Thundercloud...
8th September
Another Accidental Break... Starting to see a pattern forming here...
This Taylor Acoustic needed a Heel-Join Repair, Out Comes the Glue yet Again, but this time in a syringe...
13th September
This Job was a little interesting, we got a customer in who wanted to block up his Floyd Rose Bridge, So we Crafted Tiny Pieces of Maple to fit in between the cavities.
19th September
A Customer Bought This guitar 2nd Hand but unfortunately the Fretboard was engraved & Coloured in with Marker, we took the frets out & Sanded the fretboard down, then re-fretted it afterwards.
21st September
Yet Another Broken Neck Guitar... Its A good thing we have glue & Clamps, We had to physically break the neck clean off in order to reattach the body back with the right angle...
6th October
This Digital Piano Had Been played Hard for Many Years, So much so that the pads had worn out & Needed replacing, once the new pads were back in & All parts were screwed back together, this piano was as new yet again...
13th October
Ok, So this is what we, in the repair business, would call a bad break whereby the actual wood tears and rips away from the rest of the guitar.
This Kind of repair involves alot of patience as one needs to surgically remove the affected torn pieces causing the join not to seat properly, it took some time but the customer was happy to have the guitar back in their hands...
20th October
Yet Another Violin Repair, this Violin was dropped accidentally from a hanger on the wall, we had to do a stage repair, firstly repair the scroll & then the Neck, but now it is holding & getting played everyday...
4th December
We had to Take this bridge off from a guitar that had serious bellowing, As you can see on the left side of this picture, there are cracks in-between the bridgepin holes, & the right side of the photo Shows how curved the bridge is. In Situations like this, we have to steam the inside of the guitar to settle the molecules again & Obviously Needed to replace the bridge with a new one...
14th December
This Electric Guitar Came in for a Servicing As it was Neglected For a while. We Cleaned it up, got rid of some rust & Dirt, Restrung it & Brought it Back to Life...
2018:
15th January
This Poor Ibanez Artcore Had A bit of a fall after the strap came off, parts went flying everywhere, Knobs Came off & the bridge went missing, But with some patience & TLC, we got this Artcore Back in It's Owners Hands Shortly After this unfortunate Event...

Another Servicing Came in, It's Good to See all the attic guitars getting A new lease on Life, Its Amazing what A new Set of Strings & A Clean up Can do...
27th February
We Have No Idea What Happened to this Acoustic Bass Guitar but a Fall definately caused the back to seperate from the sides. We bandaged it up & Let it heal so it could make a full recovery...
